In tribute to Shri Rajesh Pilot

Late Shri Rajesh Pilot died on dt. June 11, 2000 was a great leader / Indian politician and a minister in Government of India. He represented the Dausa constituency in Lok Sabha.

Rajesh Pilot was born in Baidpura, a village in Ghaziabad District or Uttar Pradesh, to an army man. His birth name was Rajeshwar Prasad Singh Vidhudi. He was brought up in the poor family of his uncle was doing a Milk dairy in Delhi. Before joining politics, he served as a pilot in Indian Air Force. Later, he adopted "Pilot" as his last name.

Rajesh Pilot resigned from the post of Squadron Leader to join the politics, under the influence of his friend Rajiv Gandhi, who later became the Prime Minister of India. He emerged as a major Gujjar leader.[1] In his first election as a candidate, Pilot defeated the former queen of Bharatpur. He sent Chandraswami to the prison while he was Internal Security Minister. Later, he lost an election for the post of the Congress president to Sitaram Kesri, but kept himself in the first line of the Congress leaders.

Shri Rajesh Pilot started a Trust (Jai Jawan Jai Kisan Trust) in 1987 at ITO Delhi. The purpose of the trust has been to provide assistance to the most needy in our society. The Jai jawan jai kishan trust has been working towards elevating the lives and giving support to the downtrodden, the backward and the economically weaker sections.

Rajesh Pilot Rashtriya Jan Kalyan Sangathan was established in Feb 2005 to commemorate Mr Pilot's vision for India.

Rajesh Pilot gave us the best part of the life for betterment of our country. It honors the legacy of Rajesh pilot, a fallen leader whose strength of character and gift of service to his country are an inspiration to all who knew him.
